Ramsey's introduction to bluegrass started by an invitation to watch a bluegrass jam just over several months ago. Amazed by the skills of the players he started learning Steel Drivers & Billy Strings tunes for the next jam event. Ramsey met up with Wes afterwards to discuss forming a unique style of bluegrass band in Las Vegas. Rehearsals began & numerous hours passed as they managed to complete a 40-song performance list and started on their first all original recordings. Ramsey's skill as an accomplished guitarist in the rock genre is unquestionable, two original albums, touring and best band titles over his 20 years. He walked away from his local Las Vegas rock band to pursue his newfound love of modern & traditional Bluegrass.
With his lonesome voice & Scruggs style banjo picking Wes gives the Bootleggers a hard drivin' traditional bluegrass sound. He has been playing since the age of six, influenced by his family of bluegrass players. Wes continued to perform during his military career while forming the Norton Brothers band. His work with numerous acts throughout his musical journey has led to his recent collaboration with Ramsey on all new original material for their upcoming album release.
From a young age he developed a love for music listening to his father play Country Music on guitar and mandolin. This along with Rock-N-Roll inspired him to begin playing guitar at 12 years old. Rick, inspired by his passion of classic country and bluegrass music led to him playing the mandolin. Rick’s unique vocal sound and harmonies evolved while singing in church and school choirs while performing throughout his early years with a multitude of musicians and bands. Rick took a step back in his music career for the family life with his loving wife and four children, upon retirement his first love of music took hold and top priority. Rick is an original member of the Bootleggers after meeting Ramsey and Wes at local Bluegrass Jam Sessions they have been off and running since.
Alyson started playing the Violin at 10 years old. What began as a casual interest quickly became a fascinating and fun adventure. She played in symphony and chamber orchestras throughout high school and college. Including the UNLV symphony, Henderson Symphony, and the Nevada Chamber Orchestra. Although there is plenty of violin music to stay occupied for more than a lifetime, she couldn't help but pick viola, cello, and guitar as well. Outside of symphonic groups, she enjoys making music from any and all genres.
Richards joined the Bootleggers after a chance meeting during a local jam session. He plays a multitude of instruments and has the distinction of playing with the most bands in Las Vegas. Richard has played for over 30 years allowing him to join recording artists and comedian Pauly Shore and the Crustys, while still finding time several days a week to jam with local musicians. Richard is the most positive upbeat member of the group and a real Grateful Dead Fan. His musical background encompasses Southern Rock, Americana, Country, Bluegrass & Folk music.

The Band calls him the mystery player with little known of him. the band began an investigative venture to find out his past. Our search begins in New Orleans where early photos show an 8-year-old Sergio playing upright bass at the Spotted Cat music club but the club refused any interviews. Some of the band members were located but informed us he left the group when asked to perform daytime performances. To be Continued…
